ARRCC letter writing campaign

ARRCC is the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change.

All over Australia, people of faith are starting to write letters to Prime Minister Scott Morrison asking for serious climate action. Perhaps you might like to write a letter too. Letters are to be hand-written. Paper letters get opened. And they need to be personal – and polite too, of course. (And spread the word in your own community of faith).

Here is a complete guide to writing the letters and asking others to join you, including where to send the letters. And here’s the web page about the campaign.

Please send your letters to ARRCC – they plan to present the letters to the PM’s office in mid-August – in one large stack. Of course, the media will be invited. Letters need to arrive by August 4th.

As we get closer to both the crucial COP26 climate as well as to a federal election, let’s show the Prime Minister and the country that people of faith care deeply about this crisis and that concern about it cannot be dismissed as something ‘mainstream’ people don’t care about. We very definitely do! Let’s make it clear that he needs to act now if he’s to avoid being out of touch with everyday Australians.
