Heart and Soul group

About 20 years ago, Eman had no food and no money. She was drawn to shoplift from her local western suburbs supermarket to feed her then one-year-old child. But being caught by security staff proved to be a turning point in her life. She turned her life around.
And in 2015, she started Heart & Soul Group. Every week, it supports over 3000 people by distributing free fruit, vegetables, bakery and pantry items.

As Eman says, “Heart & Soul Group exists to help people in our community by providing them with food to keep them going, allowing them to focus on other priorities. There is no judgement in any part of what we are offering. If a person is hungry and cannot otherwise access food, we will support him or her without question”.

Heart & Soul Group run free food markets throughout Adelaide, based on helping people in need. Anyone can attend our free food markets, no concession or proof of ID required. No membership fees, no admission fees, no collection fees, no fees at all. Due to increasing costs of living, many people are finding it difficult to make ends meet & unfortunately no one is immune to finding themselves without life’s basic essentials.
